Hello world and welcome to our small slice of the internet. It’s great that you’ve decided to join us here at BCA Chemistry. So, what will you find here? Great question. Allow us to explain.
This blog is part of a project being done by the Advanced Chemistry students at Bergen County Academies. BCA is a public magnet school in northern New Jersey that features a number of different “schools within a school”. Students in Advanced Chemistry are completing their third year of core chemistry within either the Academy for the Advancement of Science and Technology (AAST) or the Academy for Engineering and Design Technology (AEDT). All of the posts on this blog will be written and edited by Advanced Chemistry students who are working in small groups to pursue chemistry related topics they find interesting. Moreover, most of the posts you will find here will attempt to explore the connections to chemistry that make up the core curriculum of Advanced Chemistry. To that end, among plenty of other interesting science and chemistry ideas, you will find some special attention being paid to the areas of thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry and organic chemistry just to name a few.
So, sit back and find a post or two to read. Please leave us comments and forward our work onto others. An important part of this project involves students getting feedback and seeing their ideas make it around the internet. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
